The Brooklyn Conservatory Chorale, now in its eleventh season, continues an established tradition of choral music at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Under the direction of Nelly Vuksic, the Chorale has developed an increasingly challenging repertoire, from premieres of new pieces to major works for chorus and orchestra. In collaboration with partner orchestras, the Chorale has sung Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Poulenc’s Gloria, Vaughan Williams’ “Toward the Unknown Region”, Brahms’s “A German Requiem”, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. In recent years, the Chorale has performed Stravinsky’s challenging and beautiful Mass with wind ensemble, “From Russia With Amore”, a rousing program of choruses from Russian and Italian operas, as well as programs that ranged from “Romanticism and Beyond” to Renaissance classics and esoterica.
The Brooklyn Conservatory Chorale continues to achieve new levels of musical and organizational accomplishment, and to attract talented singers who contribute to the group’s improvement and enthusiasm. Its members enjoy a dynamic, friendly and highly musical atmosphere, working and growing together to reach new levels. We encourage interested singers to join us in our joyful music-making; contact us for more information.
